Featured Project - Parkford Grove

This project began in 2004 and went before the Planning Commission in April 2008.

A 65’ tall sign was the subject of a lengthy discussion at the Planning Commission Meeting on April 8, 2008. They mulled over the details of the sign, which will have a face with an area of 377 square feet. The sign required a Conditional Use Permit because of its size.

The sign was designed by Quiel Brothers Sign Co. and will be visible from Interstate 10 near the Ford Street exit near the LA Fitness Gym. The sign will feature smaller signs for the Zendejas Mexican Food Restaurant and a coffee shop. “Without the sign, businesses in that area w on’t have any identification whatsoever,” said Larry Quiel, President, Quiel Brothers Sign Co.

The Planning Commission agreed that there was a great need for a sign, and most all of the commissioners agreed with the size and design. Following the discussion, the commission unanimously approved a motion to grant Quiel Brothers Sign Co. the Conditional Use Permit to build the sign.

The project has been on hold for about one year due to development issues but is coming back alive this year. We hope to have it installed by the end of the year.
